Chris Davies Set To Become New EFA Chairman

Chris Davies is set to become the new Chairman of the Eton Fives Association this autumn. Current Chairman Richard Black will step down at the end of his four year term in October to take over the running of the FiveStar development project, with Old Cholmeleian Chris succeeding him subject to approval at the EFA's AGM.

Chris is a well known face in Fives circles; he started playing as a boy at Highgate School, winning the Prep Schools' championships while at the junior school and then became a key cog in the all-conquering Old Cholmeleians team of the 1980s, playing in several victorious Alan Barber Cup teams, whilst at the same time developing a successful coaching career as a teacher back at Highgate.

In recent years, as Headmaster first of Abingdon Junior school and then Edgeborough Prep school in Surrey, Chris has played his Fives for North Oxford and the Brigands. Having retired from teaching this summer, Chris says that "he is both honoured and delighted to take on the role of Chair of the EFA at such an important and busy time for the sport and looks forward to helping the EFA Board build on Richard's inspirational work in the years to come."
