George Townsend Warner (1865-1916)

George Townsend Warner learned his Fives at Cambridge from Freeman Thomas while a student at Jesus College.

On returning to Harrow, where his father had taught and where he himself had been a pupil, he formed a brilliant Fives partnership in the early 1900s with fellow Master EM "Teddy" Butler. He was a successful coach at Harrow and wrote "Hints on Eton Fives". He was also co-author of "Groundwork of British History" (1912) with CHK Marten, "one of the most used text books of the 20th century".
