The Sunday morning club at St.Bartholomew's Newbury continues to go from strength to strength with increasing numbers, rising standards, and even a vist last weekend from a group of Russians and Qataris from the local International School (Sepp Blatter is not believed to have been involved).

May 2014: Monty Moss, who has died at the age of 90, had a vast influence over fives at Harrow, where he was captain in 1942; for many years he was chairman and then president of the Old Harrovian Fives Club.

May 2014: Cambridge Past v Present

The first big celebration of the new courts at the sports centre in West Cambridge took place on Saturday 3 May in the form of an informal Past v Present match on the three courts, which were in action from noon through to late afternoon. This is not a good time for current undergraduates with Tripos looming, but they were well represented – even if there was a lot of dashing from, and back to, the library.

The Veterans Competition is always a very pleasant opportunity to spend an afternoon playing Fives and meeting up with friends and rivals alike. This year was no exception.
2014 Ladies Final: Hird & Cooley at the Double
C.Cooley & K.Hird (1) beat E.Smith-Bingham & A.Reimer (3) 12-7, 12-1, 12-5
The 2014 Ladies Championships final was played at Eton on Saturday 19th April and saw a resounding victory for defending champions Karen Hird and Charlotta Cooley over Highgate School pair Eve Smith-Bingham and Amira Reimer.
EFA Awards 2014
As is now traditional, the EFA Dinner on May 10th will see the presentation of the EFA Awards for the following categories: Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and Special Contribution to Fives.

Aberconway Cup 2014: Williams G-Force Win Again

This year’s Fathers & Sons Championship took place at Eton College on the same day as the Kinnaird National Championships final. This had its attractions in that there were many more spectators at the College than normal but with the downside that all watched the Kinnaird match rather than the semi-finals and final of the Aberconway!
