Werner Ahrens (1938-2011): A Tribute by Daniel Haering
Werner, the cornerstone of the Zuoz Fives Club Zürich, has died of cancer at the age of 72. Werner was for many years the central figure in the playing and social life of ZFCZ. Together with a handful of other enthusiastic Old Boys, he founded ZFCZ in 1963 and they built the first court in Geeren.
2010/11 EFA League: Old Millhillians win Division 2
The season long duel at the top of Division 2 between North Oxford and the Old Millhillians was finally settled in favour of the North London team yesterday as a 3-0 win over the Old Edwardians at Mill Hill gave them the Division 2 title for the first time in their history.
2011 Mixed Championship: Win Number Three for Wiseman and Redmond
Howard Wiseman and Dominique Redmond won the 2011 Mixed Championship for the third time - their first win since 2007 - yesterday at Eton with a nailbiting 2-1 win over defending champions Peter Cohen and Kerry White winning a final game sudden death shootout 12-11. 24 pairs from all over the country took part in a fantastic day of Fives with the quality of the play throughout the field reaching a very high level.

In ideal warm and sunny conditions the twenty-first Fathers and Sons' Tournament was held yesterday at Eton College. With an entry of sixteen pairs and a league match and Ladies Championship final also taking place the courts were a hive of activity with a welcome number of spectators watching all three events.
2011 Ladies Final: A Dom-inant White-wash
The Final of the National Ladies Championships took place at Eton yesterday, with Kerry White and Dominique Redmond defending their title yet again with a 12-1, 12-5, 12-6 win over Charlotta Cooley and Marianne Rees.

2010/11 Richard Black Cup: EFA win again
The second ever Richard Black Cup took place at Eton on Sunday, with five teams gracing the courts and producing a veritable feast of Fives. The entry for this ladies Fives team competition was slightly disappointing, a combination of school holidays, university vacations and Mother's Day preventing a number of potential teams from raising enough players to enter. A change of date next year will hopefully produce a larger entry as this exciting competition begins to establish itself in the Fives calendar.

The Marsh Insurance National Schools' Championships took place at Eton last week, with over 500 pairs taking part in 10 different competitions, a remarkable number, a real celebration of the game and testament to how Fives is thriving in so many schools.
