2006 Ladies Championships

The preliminary rounds were well attended, and it was great to see players making the effort to travel from as far as Norwich, Shrewsbury, Ipswich and Brighton to support the event.
2005 Ladies Championships
Dominique Redmond reports:
This year's tournament was played on the Sunday of the Kinnaird weekend. Twenty ladies took part, with many established and experienced players competing alongside many new faces too, representing the whole range of ages from school level into the adult game. The level of play was very high, and the atmosphere was superb, since the event benefited directly from the facilities that had been laid on for the Kinnaird.
2004 Ladies Championships
Dominique Redmond reports:
The day started bright and early with a total entry of thirteen pairs. The event was split into two pools with roughly 6-7 pairs in each with the top four pairs going through.
2003 Ladies Championships
Anthony Theodossi reports:
Well with Howard's new baby in the picture now, he was desperate to get someone to run the Ladies Championship and so it fell to me (a mistake he will not repeat). The tournament was played at the new Fives courts at the Westway. The tournament was to start at 11:00am and with only one lady there at 10:50 I was worried man, but thankfully everyone arrived at 10:55 and we had a total of six pairs taking part in the competition.
2002 Ladies Championships
Howard Wiseman reports:
The National Championships were held rather later than usual!! Tucked in just before the new season commenced in mid September. Eighteen ladies took part, and it was especially pleasing to see the appearance of Karen Nunn (a recent leaver from Mill Hill School), as well as Sophie Palmer and Juliet Browning from Lancing College. A large group of young men from the senior team at Lancing College had also made the effort to travel from the south coast in order to support the mixed event in the afternoon.
2001 Ladies Championships
Howard Wiseman reports:
A different format was used this year, which combined both the Mixed and the Ladies Open into one day.
2000 Ladies Championships
Howard Wiseman reports:
Twenty-four ladies took part this year, which included four players from Zuoz school in Switzerland. The Tournament date had been moved so that the Swiss Ladies could take part in both this championship and also the schools championships which would commence a few days later. This is an arrangement that will be repeated in future years, alternating with the date of the Mixed Championships.
