2004 Under 25 Tournament

This year's under 25s championships were held at the Westway Sports Centre on Sunday 21st December. The entry was larger than it has been for some years, attracting 17 pairs from Berkhamsted School, Old Berkhamstedians, Old Cholmeleians, Old Citizens, Old Edwardians, Old Emanuels, Old Etonians, Old Harrovians, Old Ipswichians, Lancing Old Boys Old Olavians, Old Westminsters, as well as two pairs from Westway who had only begun playing the previous September.

2002 Under 25 Tournament

This year's Under 25s tournament was, though depleted by several last-minute illness cancellations, a well-contested and good-spirited event. Played on a cold but mercifully dry day at Eton, it was fortunate that eight pairs were taking part, since this ensured a maximum of on-court time and a minimum of frost-bitten spectatorship.

2001 Under 25 Tournament

Unfortunately, there was a low turnout for this year's competition, and from the two groups came two pairs of Olavians and two Berkhamstedians. In both matches, the older and more experienced Olavians won through, but it was great to see the Berkhamstedians play well to reach the semi-finals.

2000 Under 25 Tournament

With temperatures hovering around zero 12 pairs braved the cold and icy roads to gather at Eton for the Year 2000 Under 25's National Championships on Sunday 19th December. It was frustrating to see as many as 5 eligible players involved in a league match between the Old Harrovians and the Old Etonians. There were plenty of good competitive matches but in the end Matthew Wiseman and James Toop outclassed the rest of the field and won comfortably in the final despite some spirited play from Seb Cooley and Will Sorrell. Ed Sanderson and Colin Wilson won the Plate competition effortlessly by keeping warm and staying longer than the rest.
