June 2015: Aldenham Tournament - Rennie & Pulsford win (but it wasn't a fix, honestly...)

Played at Aldenham on Sunday 14th June 2015

The courts were buzzing well before the start with players warming up and practising their favourite shots. The clearing of the skies and warmer weather added to the general bonhomie as did the arrival of players in a mix of Heath green and multi-coloured past winners' shirts. Our guests Gareth Hoskins, Karen Hird and Harriet Asquith were welcomed from North Oxford EFC as well as Ralph Morgan who is a rare Old Abingdonian fives player on the circuit!

June 2015: Berkhamsted Scholars & Rogues - 30 Staff/Pupil Pairs Take Part

On Tuesday 9th June we held the 9th Annual Scholars & Rogues competition. After a few last minute drop outs due to dodgy fingers, sore hamstrings and ‘my wife won’t let me play’ (actually that’s a new one!) we began the tournament with a huge entry of 30 pairs. It was also very pleasing to see a couple of players from the Prep school for the first time ever and even more wonderful seeing how well they coped against more senior and experienced players, a great sign of the wonderful work Ryan Perrie has put in there over the past year.

Veterans Tournament 2015: Hoskins and Fleming Double Up

27/04/15: The Veterans Competition is always a very pleasant opportunity to spend an afternoon playing Fives and meeting up with friends and rivals alike. This year was no exception.The threatened rain thankfully held off all afternoon. Amid general good humour after due allowance for a couple of late arrivals the competition got under way.
