EFA U16 Individual Tournament

Howard Wiseman reports:

29/09/25: Four schools were represented at the Sunday afternoon event, held at Highgate School.

It was a very high and level standard across Westminster, Highgate, QEB and St.Olave’s Schools. The afternoon ran like clockwork, with seven one-set rounds being played, always with a different partner and opposition. It was wonderful to see everyone mixed in together and competing with such energy, fairness and even humour!

The standard was so even, that no one managed to win all their matches. In the end, two players from each of Highgate and St.Olave’s achieved the highest scores, with Tommy from Westminster missing out by just one point! Edgar from Highgate was paired with Raiyan from St.Olave’s. They were trailing a point behind Andrew and Ayush ( the other Highgate/St.Olave’s partnership), right until the end, but then managed a small surge to win 12-11. It was a fantastic, tight final in which all four players displayed a superb set-piece and great accuracy from anywhere on court.

Many thanks to Highgate for allowing the use of their courts.
