National Schools' Championships Day Four: Ipswich And St.Olave's Into The Open Final

19/03/26: Day Four of the 2026 National Schools' Championships in association with Advanta Wealth at Repton yesterday saw Ipswich and St.Olave's winning their Open semi-finals.

Daniel Ingram & Charlie Dinmore had already made history by becoming the first Ipswich pair to reach an Open semi-final; they've now gone one step further with a comfortable 3-0 win over Harrow's Bertie Bradley & Oliver Filo. The final tomorrow will be against familiar foes - Henry Etherington & Oscar Rushton of St.Olave's, who ended the challenge of the St.Olave's U16 winners Luke Whitnall & Krivi Bhavsar, also in straight games.

The two pairs met in the final of last season's U16 final at Shrewsbury, Ipswich coming out on top in a close five game match and also shared the two games they played against each other in the Williams Cup a few weeks ago, so all is set for an exciting final.

Yesterday also see the U14s entering the fray, with the action reaching the semi-final stage. There were some fantastic matches, with three of the four quarter-finals going to a deciding third game, and the semi-finals will see the top two St.Olave's pairs taking on Berkhamsted 1 and Harrow 1. Also in action today will be the Mixed pairs and the U14 beginners - it's going to be a busy day at Repton!
