Emanuel Fives Club is one month old

07/02/20: We have now successfully completed our first month of evening Fives at Emanuel School.

Turn out has been encouraging and we have more than filled the courts on two evenings. It is noteworthy that everyone has commented on the great atmosphere and sense of fun. There have been numerous occasions when play has had to be paused to allow for composure to be restored. It’s hard to cut when you are chuckling!

We have a range of talent on show and it is great to see that a number of those that have graced the Emanuel courts also featured in the recent Northern tournament. Similarly, I have been delighted that some of our members have recently had their first outing on a Fives court.

I suspect that as we enter February and March, we might experience that all too familiar gym club drop off as the New Year good intentions begin to fade! Therefore, if you live in the area and you fancy joining in please don’t hesitate to get in touch. As I have said before; we are a friendly bunch and we welcome all, no matter what your ability level.

Currently the club meets every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. at Emanuel School. However, we may look to change the evening in the spring as there have been one or two clashes. Please do look out for further announcements in the future.

I look forward to the continued success of this venture and to welcoming new players into the fold.
