RT

Name: Richard Tyler

Home club:
Old Edwardians

Other clubs or teams represented:
Old Harrovians, Jesters, HA1 Newbury, Cambridge University

Year I started playing: 1977

Favourite shot: Right hand drive into front left hand corner bouncing near back right hand corner and swinging away out of court. Works well on the return of a three wall cut, if the ball bounces in the right spot for the angles to work.

Favourite Aspect of the Game: Fives can be enjoyed by all ages, levels and genders. Counter-volleying rallies. Competitive battles against the younger generations.

Most memorable moment on a Fives court: Playing Fives in Nigeria often in front of crowds of 250-300 in December 1988 and January 1989 in Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Birnin Kebbi (where fives first introduced to Nigeria in 1924)

My playing style in no more than five words: Talkative, Energetic, Competitive...Now Mellower!
