FiveStar Review Leads To New Development Officer Role
Now in its third year, the EFA’s FiveStar development programme has already had a significant impact on the health of the sport across the country, with record turnouts for competitions, increased activity around existing facilities, and several renovation and new court building projects coming to fruition.
In order to keep pace with this growth, and in particular the funding required to sustain it, the EFA itself continues to evolve. One way in which this is happening is the use of professional expertise to supplement the vital work of volunteers and supporters, but in order to secure its long-term future the EFA wants to become more self-sufficient.
The work of the FiveStar Regional Development Managers has now evolved to the point where Regional Organisers have been appointed to deliver targeted activities, and the fundraising needs at both local and national level now require a dedicated development office. Alex Knight, previously RDM for London and the South East, has therefore been appointed as Head of Development to spearhead this function, and the EFA is now looking for an enthusiastic and capable Development Officer to work alongside him.
The Development Officer will be responsible for helping to organise, maintain and develop the EFA’s fundraising and development activity, researching and writing funding applications, running events and working with donors and supporters. They will work closely with the FiveStar team and other key stakeholders on new and existing campaigns, and investigate how the EFA can maximise the impact of its funding support to create a sustainable legacy.
