EFA Centenary Celebrated In Style
28/10/24: The centrepiece of the EFA's Centenary celebrations took place on Thursday evening with a magnificent dinner in the Long Room at Lord's cricket ground.
Demand for tickets was such that the Long Room was sold out well in advance and in the end nearly 240 Fives players and supporters filled both the Long Room and the next door Writing Room to celebrate the EFA's Centenary, exactly 100 years to the day since the first meeting of the Association.
The evening was hosted by sports broadcaster John Inverdale and featured a welcome from EFA Chair Matt Chinery, Advanta CEO Craig Webster presenting the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award to Richard Black and the official launch of the EFA Centenary Appeal and the Kinnaird 100 Club. There was an auction to raise funds for the Appeal, an exhibition of Fives memorabilia and the premiere of the latest EFA Centenary short film as well as the presentation of a silver commemorative plate to the EFA from our Swiss visitors.
