1999 Williams Cup

Four Schools entered the Competition again this year, which was held at Eton College, concurrently with the Barber Cup and EFA Trophy finals. Each School entered a team of three pairs, and each pair played a best-of-three game match against the equivalent pair from each of the other Schools. One point was awarded for each game won.

1998/99 Turnbull Trophy

Ten pairs entered this tournament, which was held at Eton for the first time. Pairs were made up of one current schoolboy player and one older player who attended the same School. There were two pools of five, one weaker one stronger to ensure matches at roughly the same standard, and each pair played two games against every other pair in the pool. Two pairs qualified from each pool for the semi-finals, and each pair was given a handicap. The semi-finals and final were just one game played up to 15, with a different handicap.

P J Y Hucks - Old Cholmeleian

Many will be sorry to learn of the death of Phil Hucks at the age of 90. He was formerly President of the Old Cholmeleian Fives Club, was a Jester and had also been a member of the EFA Committee.
