Summer Fields Win U13 Final

17/05/18: The delayed National Schools' Championships U13 final was played at Eton on Friday and was won by Summer Fields, who defeated St.Olave's 3-1 in a close and exciting match.

The final was originally due to be played on finals day at the end of the main week of competition but was delayed to a concussion injury sustained by one of the players in a rugby match the day before. In front of a small but enthralled group of spectators, the Summer Fields pair - already winners of the Prep Schools' Championships this year - won the first game easily before the St.Olave's boys began to get into their stride in the second game, which they won 14-13 having saved several game points. The third game was crucial, with the St.Olave's pair going 9-4 ahead before the Summer Fields boys fought back with improved set piece play to level at 11-11 and then win 14-11. The fourth game was also close, but the Summer Fields pair always had the edge, winning it 12-9 to win the trophy.
