2013 Mixed Tournament: Cooleys win again in Mixed Match

The 2013 Mixed Tournament took place at Eton on Sunday in glorious sunshine, with a small but high quality field producing a highly entertaining day's Fives with tournament organiser Seb Cooley neatly devising a format that resulted in he and his partner - sister Charlotta - winning and retaining their title with a 2-0 win over George Campbell and Katharina Kuenburg in the final. Fittingly, the plate competition for the Dossi Dish was won by Dossi himself, with a bit of help from partner Elana Osen as they overcame Peter White and Natalie Lilienthal 2-1 in an extremely close contest.

2005 Mixed Championships

Dominique Redmond reports:

This year's mixed tournament took place at Eton, on the 17th April 2005. All entries arrived on time with no withdrawals from the large draw. There were a total of twenty pairs, split into four pools of five pairs with the top two pairs going through from each pool. As is now the case each year, the 'Wiseman rule' was in place to stop male domination on the top step by only allowing the man to remain in the serving position for one rally.

2004 Mixed Championships

Howard Wiseman reports:

This event was run along side the Ladies Nationals. Whilst in recent years it has been possible to run these two events through to their conclusion on one day, it now seems appropriate to separate the two events so as to properly recognise the very high standard of the ladies game, and indeed to now provide two separate events that are needed as key competition dates for what is now a large number of players.
