2007 EFA Trophy

The pools rounds took place this year on Sunday 28th February at Eton. A solid turnout saw two pools of five compete for the much coveted team trophy cup. Pool A consisted of the Old Salopians, Berkhamsted, St Olave's A, North Oxford B, and the Old Olavians. Pool B comprised Cambridge University, St Olave's B, Westway, Brigands and North Oxford A.

2006 EFA Trophy

A total of eight teams entered the competition this year, with North Oxford doubling their chances of winning by entering two teams! Other new teams included the Pepperpotters, Westway and the Old Ipswichians who added to the regular ensemble of the Old Salopians, Old Olavians and the Old Etonians.

A strong entry resulted in this year's competition taking place over two weekends, with the group stages played on 30th January and the final taking place alongside the Alan Barber Cup final on 20th February.

2004 EFA Trophy

The EFA Trophy Competition took place on Sunday 15th February this year with six teams battling it out for the Cup. It was great to see a couple of new teams entering the competition with Gareth Hoskins organising a North Oxford team and The Heath also entering the competition.

2003 EFA Trophy

T Walters reports:

After a clash with another fixture, the date of the EFA trophy had to be rearranged at the last minute this year. The EFA and the Master i/c of Fives at Eton do appologise to all the club captains who made the effort to organise teams, and then had to reorganise them at the last minute. As a result of this re-jigging, four teams arrived on Sunday 2nd March to compete in the event, as opposed to the scheduled eight.

2002 EFA Trophy

Chris & Seb Cooley report:

Pool 1:St Olave's, Oxford University, Old Etonians

The Old Etonians qualified in first place. They won both their matches 3-0, beating St Olave's comfortably (with the benefit of experience, Olave's having a young side) but having a closer game against Oxford. In the remaining match, a match of comebacks eventually ended in a 3-0 win for Oxford who thus qualified second, experience again proving a decisive factor.

2000 EFA Trophy

Thankfully this year, the second weekend in February didn't fall in the destructive path of a certain Mr. Valentine, allowing a record entry of twelve sides.....the courts were positively heaving, especially as the semi-finals of the Barber Cup were played on the very same day. Thanks to all those who gathered a side together! I have to give a special thanks to Mark Williams, who kindly held the fort in my absence. I was however on hand at the later stages.....
